Saturday 16 May 2015 will see our Dan taking part in the Ten-Y-Fan challenge in which he will attempt to climb Pen-Y-Fan 10 times in 24 hours.

The reason?

To raise money for a wonderful 4 year old chid called Harri Gillen who is going through chemotherapy for Rhabdomyosarcoma which is a rare form of cancer. Harri's Dad is self employed and we would love to able to raise enough money to give them a little breathing space to spend some time together and not have to worry about the bills.

The Ten-Y-Fan challenge

Steve Western & Steve Copeland originally thought of the idea to climb Pen-Y-Fan 10 times to help raise money for Harri Gillen and his family. Harri is only 4 years old and is going through chemotherapy for Rhabdomyosarcoma which is a rare form of cancer. Harri's Dad is self employed and the aim was to raise enough money to give them a little breathing space to spend some time together and not have to worry about the bills.

Harri Gillen

Harri Gillen was diagnosed with a Rhabdomyosarcoma tumour, an extremely rare and aggressive cancer that only affects a small number of children in the UK each year, after his parents Liz and Lee discovered a lump on his left forearm in November 2014.

Harri, from Rhiwbina in Cardiff, faces gruelling treatment to fight the cancer including chemotherapy, surgery and radiotherapy.

The youngster started chemotherapy in December and will continue to have treatment every three weeks for six months when he will be reassessed.
