BAFTA Cymru AR

Background

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts in Wales, BAFTA Cymru, BAFTA Cymru was set up as a branch of BAFTA.

Challenge

To celebrate the inclusion of games we partnered with BAFTA Cymru to create an AR game for Android & iOS of the BAFTA Cymru journey. The player travels up an augmented tower by moving around an AR trigger and tapping in interact with virtual elements (like handles & buttons). 

Solution

Using Vuforia and the Unity engine we created levels around a tower which would shift down when the player moved their character to each the exit.

To make the game as user friendly as possible we had fun and engaging puzzles that were universal so even non-gamers could play and enjoy the content. We used to ray-cast system to allow players to input commands to their character simply by tapping where they wanted to go.
