Life Sciences Hub Wales

Background

The Life Sciences Hub Wales is the nerve centre of a vibrant and prosperous Welsh Life Sciences eco-system and brings together academic, business, clinical and professional services and funding organisations to provide a commercially-driven melting pot of talent.

Challenge

Through a competitive tender process we were commissioned to design a bilingual brochure which would help market and showcase the diverse nature of the Hub for its first year anniversary. An important consideration was to accommodate the time frame as the brief required production and delivery in a relatively short period.

Solution

The creative part of the process was to produce a number of conceptual routes which focussed on key sections and then once a route had been chosen to concentrate on the rest of the document. With the document being an anniversary item it gave thought to making the document celebrate the occasion and thus becoming an item which would be treasured for years to come. With this in mind we explored a number of interesting substrates for the cover which included heat sensitive paper, a moss solution, case binding, hand crafted presentation boxes and specialist fibrous papers.

An important factor which helped immensely achieving the tight deadline was working in close liaison with the Hub’s Marketing Manager who was able to install himself within the studio throughout the project ensuring the final outcome met the Hub’s requirements. The end solution was well received by Hub members and dignitaries alike to the extent that additional work has been commissioned.
